Read MoreHow I've Changed As A Photographer + Friend
I LEARNED A HUGE LESSON LAST FEBRUARY. I REALIZED I WAS DYING A SLOW DEATH DUE TO CONFORMITY AND THE DISILLUSIONMENT THAT COMES FROM THE WEDDING INDUSTRY. DON'T GET ME WRONG HERE -- I LOVE WHAT I DO. SO MUCH. BUT I LEARNED THAT IF I AM EVER GOING TO SURVIVE SHOOTING WEDDINGS, I NEED TO BRING MY "WHY I DO THIS" TO THE FOREFRONT.
I NEEDED TO MAKE PHOTOGRAPHING LOVE STORIES JUST THAT -- STORIES. MORE THAN EPIC SHOTS IN THE COOLEST BACKDROPS. MORE ABOUT PEOPLE AND LESS ABOUT PRAISE. I WOULD ULTIMATELY NEED TO PUT MY "SHOOT AND SHARE" MINDSET AWAY AND CARE MORE ABOUT FINDING THE STORY.
THIS CHANGE WAS A LONG TIME COMING. IF YOU KNOW ME, YOU KNOW I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A BIT HEAVY-HEARTED, ESPECIALLY REGARDING SURFACE LEVEL THINGS. SO I AM HERE TO SHARE THAT I AM UNVEILING THE NEW ME, PHOTOGRAPHICALLY. THE ME I HAVE BEEN FOR OVER 80 CLIENTS THIS YEAR. I STILL PLAY WITH LIGHT. CAPTURE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ANGLES. SEARCH FOR THE WIDES. BUT I ALSO CARE ABOUT EVERY SINGLE MOMENT. THE ONES THAT ARE GRAND AND THE ONE THAT ARE INFINITESIMAL. I'VE LEARNED TO CARE MORE ABOUT PRESERVING THE SACREDNESS OF YOUR DAY MORE THAN BUILDING MY OWN PORTFOLIO. JOIN ME, AS I SHARE MY 2016 WORK THROUGH A SERIES OF BLOGS.
MORE COMING SOON.
