Here is the seventh of several photo shoots encompassing my 2014 personal work. This entire Someplace Wild Street Style series is based off of one question:
If you closed your eyes to the opinions, judgments and prejudices of others, how would you display your own unique personal style?
I asked several friends/models with contrasting styles to find a few outfits that best describe their answer to this question. To read more about the purpose of this project click here.
Here is Aysegül aka "Ice", a Turkish author, photographer and cook who just so happens to live on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. I know this may sound CRAZY but we met at Roux on Canton, a local restaurant in my hometown while she was in town visiting a friend.
After dining at Roux, she inquired about writing a review on our Shrimp & Grits. I eagerly responded and she met me to chat recipe details.
We sat down at the bar to talk about this article but couldn't help but bounce all over the place; talking eagerly about photography, web design, inspiration and so on. We connected so quickly that we decided to stay in touch. A few months later, after a slew of emails and even more mutual blog stalking, I booked my tickets to Virgin Gorda for a visit!
She is certainly a hostess with the mostest who made my experience in Virgin Gorda truly exceptional. I will be posting images from my trip to Virgin Gorda sometime in the next week!
If you are a foodie or wannabe foodie, you MUST check out her blog, Foolproof Living. I will be sharing more about by my trip and posting images sometime in the next week!
Now back to her style. It is the epitome of class. Poised. Elegant. She loves basics just like any well-dressed European. Her selections hug her curves ever-so-slightly creating feminine silhouettes. She is such a natural beauty with a heart that outshines her exterior. Enjoy a few frames from her style shoot in Virgin Gorda.
