Hi friends! Here is the first of several photo shoots encompassing my 2014 personal work. This entire series bases itself off of one question:
If you closed your eyes to the opinions, judgments and prejudices of others, how would you display your own unique personal style?
For a looong season of my life, I didn't have a tangible answer to this question. I toiled with the idea of what my "personal style" could be for years... just to find that I wouldn't actually discover it until I discovered who I was as a person.
It was the essential component of my style debacle.
I had to first define who I was before attempting to define it through anything physical (and this went for more than just clothing). I now understand that fashion is a unique and valuable form of self-expression that we must cultivate. Therefore, through these street style sessions, I want to empower and encourage freedom of self!
I asked several friends/models with contrasting styles to find three outfits that best describe their answer to this question. And here is Elle, a vivacious introvert who loves high fashion, clean grunge, costume jewelry, rich textures and edgy menswear. She is one of my closest friends who consistently pushes me to find greater ABANDON within my own personal style.
Love her.
Enjoy!
*unfortunately we couldn't get as many photographs in her final awesome outfit due to harsh winter winds!
