For Bonnie Kate and Max's adventure session we cozied up in his family's 100-year-old cabin and then gallivanted through dried swampland. Talk about my kind of photo shoot. I am honored to know these two and support their newest endeavor Adventure Us, where they are pursuing a life of adventure by traveling full time in their renovated 1979 Airstream and purveying passion-driven creative goodness. Rachel + Michael's Mackinac Island Wedding in Michigan

Growing up, my Dad always reminisced about Mackinac Island; all 3.8 square miles of it, located in Lake Huron between Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. He shared about the horse-drawn carriages, decadent fudge, and crystal clear water. His stories made it seem like a dream... a place where history reigned and time slowed down. I always wanted to visit but never really thought about when that would be.

It's hard to explain just how much this wedding meant to me. Since the day I met and photographed Caroline and Forrest in Oxford, Mississippi, I knew this whole experience would be different. We became friends within an instant; relating and understanding one another in a way that is quite rare. Without even trying, all of their actions and words were drenched in authenticity. What a breath of fresh air.
